Corporate Health Works, established in 1987, is a Canadian company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our consultants each have over fifteen years of professional experience. We have a large client base of small, mid-sized and large companies in both the private and public sectors.
Norma McCormick, President
Norma McCormick is founder and principal of Corporate Health Works, Inc. She works with companies and communities to detect and assess workplace safety and health hazards and to control their associated risks. A health care administrator by profession, Norma has worked in the fields of human services, systems evaluation and planning, health promotion, occupational safety and health and environmental management since 1967.
In addition to general safety consultation and training, she assists companies in writing safety policies and procedures, and in developing and implementing safety programs. She is a long-time member of the Canadian Standard Association’s Strategic Steering Committee on Occupational Safety and Health. For her volunteer contribution to standards development, Norma received CSA’s Award of Merit in June 2006. She was elected to the CSA Group Board in June 2013, and serves as a member of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.
Christian McCormick, CRSP, ROHT, CPT (s)
Occupational hygienist / safety professional
Since 2005 Christian has provided solutions to achieve safe and healthy workplaces, enjoying the new challenges and opportunities that come from working in diverse workplaces.
Christian has joined the Canadian Standards Association's Technical Committee now updating the respirator standard, CSA Z94.4 and looks forward to participating, learning and sharing his expertise on the care and use of respirators. Christian serves on the Board of the American Industrial Hygiene Association - Manitoba Chapter serving as President and is now Secretary.
Christian holds three professional designations with the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP), the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (ROHT) and is a Certified Pulmonary Technician in Spirometry (CPTs). As an occupational hygienist, he specializes in workplace monitoring and control of welding fume, contributing to the publication of several technical articles on the hazards and control of welding fumes.
As a certified pulmonary technician in spirometry, he has completed course work in asthma education and is now working toward designation as a Canadian Respiratory Educator. He volunteers as a part of the Breathe Freely program, a campaign originally developed by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) to promote occupational respiratory health protection in the UK. The Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH) is now partnering with BOHS to bring the Breathe Freely program to Canada with the aim of reducing occupational lung disease and raising awareness of the occupational hygiene solutions available.
Christian holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba - Labour Studies Program and a Certificate with Honours from Red River College in Occupational Health and Safety.
Adam Hannah, Consultant
Adam Hannah has been employed with Corporate Health Works since 2000 and is responsible for delivering many of the training programs we provide including Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS Training, Forklift Operator Certification and others. Adam is also certified as an Industrial Audiometric Technician by the Province of Manitoba.
Adam has completed many occupational health and safety courses and has taken courses in Administering a Respiratory Protection Program and Respirator Fit Testing provided by the Canadian Standards Association.
